We are looking for an intern to assist the marketing department in its work to expand our network of contacts and partners in the UK and possibly worldwide. The intern will also assist our Partner Service Department to provide a friendly front line service to existing partners in developing countries and in the UK.
The work will include compiling direct mail shots, cold calling organisations and companies interesting in either donating or receiving computers, answering telephone and email queries, welcoming walk-in members of the public, data inputting and assisting with the updating of Computer Aid’s website and it’s social media platforms.
Person specification:
• Excellent telephone manner
• Strong computer skills and experience of using databases
• Self motivated
• Ability to organise own work load and prioritise effectively
• A working knowledge of IT equipment and its uses.
• Experience in marketing
• Commitment to the values, aims and objectives of Computer Aid International.
• Ability to speak French and/or Spanish would be a plus.
Ideally the candidate will be able to volunteer 3 days a week for 3 months. Volunteer expenses of up to £10 per day will be paid for food and travel on production of valid receipts.

We are looking for an intern to assist our research and development work in the field of ICTs in development, the work will include:
• Researching and identifying new partners and stakeholders in Africa and South America
• Identifying new ICT4D products and services required by our target beneficiaries
• Helping Computer Aid to keep abreast of changes in the ICT4D and ICT4E landscape
• Identifying any conferences relating to ICT4D that Computer Aid could attend
• Helping to keep all Computer Aid staff informed of any new developments in ICT4D and ICT4E
Person specification:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven research and report writing skills.
• Existing experience/interest in ICT4D and/or ICT4E
• Ability to deal effectively with people from all backgrounds
• Ability to manage on-going relationships with key individuals and organisations

Computer Aid also relies on volunteers to who give up some of their time to help the organisation achieve its mission. We are looking for people with a wide range of skills to support our work.
We generally ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of two days per week for a minimum of three months. Office based voluntary positions are open Monday to Friday during normal office hours. Workshop and warehouse voluntary positions work Monday to Saturday. In return for your help we offer a safe and friendly working environment and the opportunity to learn new skills. All volunteers are also given a full induction into the work of the charity.
