Computer Aid appoints full-time Environmental Advocacy Officer | 28/06/2010

Computer Aid is a leading advocate for the sustainable use of EEE, and continuously promotes the environmental importance of re-use over recycling in the UK. We have actively lobbied the UK government to put a stop to the dumping of the UK’s e-waste in developing countries, and continue to raise awareness of this disturbing practise.

To help us build on and continue with our environmental advocacy work, we have appointed a full time Environmental Advocacy Officer, Haley Bowcock. Haley’s responsibilities include advocacy work surrounding the WEEE directive, involving issues such as e-waste, reuse and recycling. Haley will also assist in developing and advocating e-waste legislation in the Balkans

Prior to joining Computer Aid, Haley worked as Communications Officer for food and agriculture at Oxfam Great Britain and as Sustainability Research Officer at Adaptation Environmental Support in Sydney, Australia. She has a BSc in Biology with Honours from the University of Sydney and an MSc in Nature, Society and Environmental Policy from the University of Oxford.
