Computer Aid International is working with one of the country’s leading recycling companies to recycle empty printer cartridges and unwanted mobile phones.
By recycling your used printer cartridges and mobile phones, you can protect the environment at the same time as raising funds for Computer Aid - which provides professionally refurbished IT equipment to schools, universities, hospitals and not for profit organisations in developing countries.

We will send you a Computer Aid collection box – see picture above- and have it collected directly from your premises when full. Computer Aid will then receive a cash donation (from the recycling company) for recycled printer cartridges and mobile phones.

Will donating our printer cartridges cost anything?

Nothing at all! You will receive a collection box free of charge, once this is full contact the number on the side of the box to arrange a collection. The box will be collected at no charge to your organisation and you will receive another one in its place.

What kind of cartridges do you accept?

We are able to take ALL makes of inkjet and toner printer cartridges, as well as all makes and models of mobile phones.

We do ask that organisations do not put photocopier toner in the box as Computer Aid is charged 15 pence for every photocopier toner received.

How do I arrange for my box to be collected?

Once your box is full then contact the number on the side of the box and it will be collected with a new box delivered in its place.

What size are the collection boxes?

The collection box has been designed to store up to 15 toner cartridges (or equivalent number of inkjet cartridges/mobile phones) and measures 62x54x42cm, see above for picture. The box will be sent to you flat packed, if you require more than one box then please indicate how many when filling out the form.

I need a waste transfer note, can you provide one?

The external company that we use are able to provide all the relevant documentation to show that your printer cartridges have been dealt with in an environmentally sensitive manner. Please ask for this documentation when ringing to arrange collection.

What happens to donated cartridges?

They are sold to remanufacturers who clean, repair and refill them and then resell the items. The money raised from the sale of your cartridges goes to Computer Aid International.
