Namibia is one of the most advanced countries in Africa in the use of new technologies. It is ranked 8th in the Networked Readiness Ranking and is one of the few countries on the continent with a whole Ministry dedicated to ICT.
Our partnership Manager was there in October to attend the 2nd National ICT summit and meet with the major actors in the ICT for Development sector. He managed to meet with representatives from the Ministry of Education and discussed ways to collaborate.
The Ministry of Education in Namibia has started to integrate ICT in the Education project as early as 2004 and always had a holistic approach about it. Not only they managed to equip most of the schools with quality equipment, but they also provided them with suitable e-learning content linked to the national curriculum.
Computer Aid International is looking forward to being part of this already successful project.
