Supplying Computers to a Pharo Foundation School in Somaliland

Computer Aid has been supplying the Pharo Foundation with computing equipment for a number of years.

The Pharo Foundation is a private foundation based in the United Kingdom and established in 2011. Committed to the development of Africa, the Foundation has been supporting projects in the Horn of Africa since its establishment. Their projects contribute towards increasing access to education, agriculture, health, and water, and help improve people’s livelihoods. In 2024, 21 desktop computers were provided to the foundation. The desktops received were donated to Pharo Primary Hargeisa in Somaliland, one of the 3 schools established by the Foundation in the region.

Established in September 2014, the school initially operated under the administration of SOS Children’s Villages, a non-governmental organisation, until 2019. In 2019, the Pharo Foundation took over with an emphasis on enhancing the school’s status as a leading institution in Somaliland. Their focus has been on delivering high-quality education and continuously improving facilities to create a nurturing learning environment. By integrating Pharo Schools’ core values into everyday interactions and lesson delivery, the school strives to develop students in leading and adapting in a rapidly changing world.
