Since 2023, Virgin Active has regularly donated equipment to Computer Aid. We have assisted them in disposing of unwanted IT equipment and have collected items from 25 different locations across the UK. In total, we have received a total of 1,006 items of equipment, and the reuse of Virgin Active equipment has led to a CO2e saving of 27,369Kg. The reused equipment has been to supplied to various non-profit organisations including: Computer Aid Kenya, Computer Aid South Africa, St. Giles Trustund Great Lakes Outreach.
The majority of equipment was collected from London, however, there were further collections made in Northampton, Nottingham, Salford, and Twickenham stadium.

The inventory that was collected included:
- Laptops
- Tablets
- Monitors
- PCs
- Projektoren
- Servers
- Network Switches
- Docking Stations
- Server Cabinets
- Desk Telephones
Once equipment is refurbished, or recycled where refurbishment isn’t feasible, it is supplied to non-profits to assist them in their charitable activities. IT donors such as Virgin Active can be supplied with sustainability reports detailing:
- The quantity of each unit type which was recycled or reused
- a breakdown of the CO2e saved as a result of reuse
- some examples of what this CO2e translates to in real terms
We also can provide examples of equipment destinations, showcasing how the reused equipment is benefitting individuals both domestically and overseas. We can also provide specific case studies and photos as necessary.
