Earlier this year, 14 students at the GreenShoots AgriTech Centre in Oddar Meanchey, Cambodia, used laptops supplied by Computer Aid to write, edit, and produce their own short films, many for the first time.

Green Shoots ran a three-week digital storytelling intensive workshop with StoryCord between February and March 2026, working with 20 students in a rural classroom that had previously been disrupted by cross-border conflict. Fourteen completed the programme, each producing a short film combining their own voice narration, photographs, and written narrative. For some, it was the first time they had used a laptop for anything beyond basic browsing.

Muneezay Jaffery, Operations Manager at Green Shoots Foundation said:

“We are so grateful for the laptops donated by Computer Aid to our classroom. The devices are used by students and teachers for day-to-day tasks. For a few of them it was their first time using a laptop for more than just browsing!”
