IT training gets underway in Zimbabwe

Earlier this summer 30 teachers gathered at Risctec Training Centre in Harare to undertake IT training from Computer Aid’s local partner, ICDL Africa, who deliver training and certification in the International Computer Driving Licence.

This marks the start of our Zimbabwe eClasses project, with installation complete and training well underway. ICDL's attentive trainers have split the teachers into two groups depending on their skill level, to ensure they are all able to start reaping the benefits of ICTs in the classroom when their students return to school for the new school term.

“The trained teachers are really excited and became strong advocates of the project- eager to use the new equipment and ‘show off’ their newly acquired skills” says Matthew Chandaengerwa from WorldLinks Zimbabwe.

The strength of this project lies in the collaboration and motivation between all partners, schools, and teachers. In addition to ICDL, our in-country partner WorldLinks have brought their expertise to the project, having installed the classes, overseen logistics, and will support on monitoring and maintenance of the eClasses.
