Temporary Refurbishment in London

We have a temporary refurbishment station for any individuals looking to donate laptops during lockdown - we’re asking those who are able to courier or deliver any equipment donations to the following address:

Mildmay Community Centre, Woodville Road, London, N16 8NA

Open 10am-6pm Monday-Friday this week

We’ve set up a temporary equipment processing station here where we are data-wiping and refurbishing donations so they can be given to teachers, students and those in need of technology to help them stay connected during the lockdown.

We’re using DBAN (Darik's Boot and Nuke) for HDD and Blancco for SSD to wipe the machines, and then they will be checked and fixed so they can be reused.

At the moment we don’t have a way to collect the equipment, so we are asking donors if they can help by couriering the equipment - however if anyone has a connection to a courier company, we’d love to find a way to reduce the cost for people, so please put them in contact with us at alice@computeraid.org

If you have no way to pay for a courier, let us know - we have a very small amount of money to cover some costs for individuals, but as it’s limited we’ll be doing it on a case by case basis.
