Hub in progress.

Our work in Mankosi building a Solar Community Hub

Computer Aid has recently completed a project in Mankosi, South Africa.

Computer Aid has recently completed a project in Mankosi, South Africa. A brand new Solar Community Hub infrastructure has been deployed and will be ready very soon.

We became partners with Utelize Mobile in January of 2022, and along with Mobliciti, we worked as a team to create this Solar Community Hub. This project is also being supported by Dell Technologies, Intel, and Zenzeleni Networks. The support of our partners helped to bring this project to life.

More about the Solar Community Hub

The Solar Community Hub projects create working spaces for people in the most remote parts of the world. The Hub is created by using recycled and repurposed shipping containers make a space large enough to support solar panels on the outside, and computer technology on the inside. Due to their unique design, they can be deployed almost anywhere as they are completely self-sufficient and can be used on multiple types of terrain.

The Results

Solar Community Hubs allow teachers to gain access to new skills and inspire students to do the same. These Hubs allow people to succeed in the modern world by providing up-to-date resources and teaching facilities. Both students and teachers can flourish with access to the digital world, and this space provides a place that a community can grow and learn.
